Heart Of Monks Eleigh
A space for people to be at HOME with themselves, with others, or with their God
THE CENTRE HOME exists for people to find space—time to reflect, to meet, to talk, to be quiet, to recharge batteries, to just ‘be’. It is a place where people can find the space to be at home with themselves, with others, or with their God. HOME is available to everyone—of any faith or none. HOME is for all who need it, regardless of their ability to pay. There is a suggested contribution to cover costs and ongoing improvements, but we are happy to arrange usage according to need and resources. HOME is housed in a building owned by The Ansell Trust, in which the United Reformed Church continues to worship. It is managed by a team from the United Reformed Church and the Parish Church.
THE FACILITIES Parking for 4 cars at the front of the building and on-street parking in close proximity A main meeting room that seats up to 40 people A small kitchen area for making hot and cold drinks and plating food (previously prepared) with washing up facilities and linen Glasses, crockery and cutlery for 40 people Supplies of tea, coffee and sugar A toilet (wheelchair accessible) An electronic organ & keyboard Audio-visual equipment

THE QUIET PLACE Within the village—a short walk away from the chapel—is a five acre area of water meadow, preserved as a haven for wildlife by one of the HOME management team. In line with the vision and ethos of HOME , The Quiet Place is also available to individuals and groups on day retreat—a tranquil setting in which to wander and wonder. You can follow a special trail with reflections or just stroll and sit and meditate on the wonders of this world. The distinctive wet meadow ecosystem is a natural home to special species of butterflies, birds and dragonflies. The Quiet Place at Monks Eleigh is affiliated to The Quiet Garden Movement . Whether using HOME or not, any individuals or groups who feel they could benefit from being in this wonderful natural haven should get in touch for more details (email: haven@arisaig.net)
